Jersey Girls League
This league starts on October 4th, 2016 (Tuesday Nights) at 7 pm. The fee is $7 for club members and $10 for non- members. We are an 80% handicap league limited to females and would run until December 20, 2016. That would be 12 weeks. The first 2 weeks of the season are to establish an average. The actual competition starts on the 3rd week of the season. We will be shooting a Vegas 450. We have a fun shot for the last shot of every night. The closest arrow to the center of the X wins a Dunkin Donut card. Lots of fun and surprises too!
The Traditional League is for those archers who prefer to ply their sport using “traditional” archery equipment (no sights, cams/wheels, stabilizers, releases, etc.). The league typically holds an indoor session during the Winter months and an outdoor session during the Spring and Summer months. The cost to participate is $7 per week. The league meets every Wednesday night. The Winter session meets at 7:00pm and the Spring/Summer session meets at 6:00pm. Individuals compete against each other rather than in teams. First, second and third place awards are given.
The Money League usually starts on the Thursday of first full week of January and runs for 12 weeks. League play begins at 7:00pm and the cost is $7 per week. Teams are comprised of 2 shooters. Joe Natalie Unleague League (2019-2020)
This League is named in honor of Joe Natalie, a long time participant of this league who passed away in early 2016. In order to keep his memory alive we have named this League in his honor. The League shoots either an NFAA 300 target (1 or 5 spot, shooters choice) or a Vegas 450 target (1 or 3 spot, shooters choice) every other week. We are not a conventional league with a strict format or handicap … thus our Unleague designation. We are a group of Archers interested in shooting as a group but not so much in competition as we had done in the past 15 years. Anyone who is available during the day may participate. Cost is $1 for Waxobe members and $3 for non-members. Starting time is precisely at 1:00 pm each Friday. The league generally runs between 1¼ to 1½ hours.
There is usually some sort of Give Away for "The Awesome Shot of the Day", which is never known before the actually shoot but usually rewards the archer who gets the most "X's" in a particular end. If there is any sort of tie, then there is a Shoot-Off in the next end. Shooting for the Awesome Shot of the Day continues until there is a winner.
Our League runs the same time every year, that being from the first Friday in October to the last Friday in March. There is no shoot the day after Thanksgiving. There is a short hiatus during the Christmas Week and the New Year's week with shooting restarting on the first Friday in January (unless that is New Year's Day, in which case we'll start the 2nd Friday) and continuing until the last Friday in March.
We have no restriction on type of bow used or equipment. If you love archery, are available on Fridays and have a nice crisp $1 bill we want you! We also accept gold bars, silver, platinum or if you are recognized by Dun and Bradstreet. Leave your AMEX card at home because we do not accept any plastic money.
Come shoot with the Best and Friendliest archers on planet Earth.
